Maria began her career in fashion by obtaining a BFA in California College of the Arts. She continued her education receiving an MA in fashion design from Edinburgh College of Art where she met and was mentored by the London based Scottish designer Holly Fulton. Maria eventually moved to London to work for Holly. Currently residing in New York, she has continued to develop and refine her skills in pattern making, draping, sewing, technical design and fashion design.
Maria has worked with fashion startups and small businesses running production, coordinating technical design creating optimal fit in order to uphold the highest quality of production as well as the integrity of design.
Maria successfully ran a production and sample making team and managed all aspects of technical design for a growing bridal company. In addition, she designed and produced her own lingerie line. Currently, you can find Maria in Midtown managing the Reem Acra Atelier and thriving as a part of the luxury NYC brands product development team.
